Triprolidine and Pseudoephedrine are combined in this medicine.
Triprolidine + Pseudoephedrine helps to temporarily relieve symptoms of cold and allergies such as stuffy or runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose or throat, and itchy and watery eyes.
Take Triprolidine + Pseudoephedrine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
Try to take it at the same time each day.
Triprolidine + Pseudoephedrine is available as a tablet or oral liquid or syrup.
If you are taking the tablet, swallow it with a glass of water.
If you are taking the liquid or syrup, shake the bottle well before you take it to ensure that the liquid is evenly mixed. Use the measuring spoon or cup provided to measure your dose.
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your normal dosing schedule.
DO NOT double a dose under any circumstances.
Alert your doctor if you have the following conditions:
- very high blood pressure
- severe coronary artery disease (narrowing of the blood vessels of the heart)
- overactive thyroid gland
as Triprolidine + Pseudoephedrine may not be suitable for you.
Do not take Triprolidine + Pseudoephedrine if you are currently taking or have taken a medicine used to treat depression known as monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine and tranylcypromine in the last 14 days.
Inform your doctor if you have the following conditions:
- diabetes
- a condition affecting the heart or blood vessel
- increased pressure in the eyes
- enlarged prostate gland or difficulty in urination
- lung disease or breathing problem e.g. asthma, emphysema, bronchitis
- thyroid problem
- ulcer or blockage in the stomach or bowel
- liver disease
- moderate to severe kidney disease
Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Be sure to check with your doctor or pharmacist before giving Triprolidine + Pseudoephedrine to a child or the elderly. Children or elderly people may be more sensitive to the side effects.
If you are going to have certain laboratory tests (e.g. urine drug test), inform your doctor that you are taking this medicine.
Triprolidine + Pseudoephedrine may cause drowsiness. If affected, do not drive or take part in any activity in which you need to be alert.
Other side effects include any of the following: headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, stomach discomfort, dry mouth, excessive sweating, pain when passing urine, difficulty passing urine, nervousness, and difficulty sleeping.
Some side effects may need immediate medical help. Alert your doctor quickly if you experience any of the following:
- sudden fever, reddening of the skin, small blisters on the skin
- sudden abdominal pain or blood in the stool
- seeing, hearing or feeling things that are non-existent
Inform your doctor if any of these side effects do not go away or are severe, or if you experience other side effects.
Do not take Triprolidine + Pseudoephedrine if you are currently taking or have taken a medicine used to treat depression known as a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine and tranylcypromine in the last 14 days.
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines:
- medicines for high blood pressure e.g. methyldopa, guanethidine, reserpine
- medicines that can cause drowsiness or affect your concentration
- other medicines for depression
- other medicines for cold and allergy
This list does not include all medicines that may interact with Triprolidine + Pseudoephedrine.
Always notify your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements, and medicines that you buy without a prescription.
Avoid alcohol. Triprolidine + Pseudoephedrine may worsen the drowsiness caused by alcohol intake.
Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
Protect from light and moisture.
Medicines must not be used past the expiry date.
